Indaver leads the field in sustainable waste management in Europe. We deliver high-quality, cost-effective services in the municipal, industrial and specialist hazardous waste markets. We currently offer Total Waste Management and Waste-to-Energy solutions in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK and Ireland.
Currently, in Essex, Indaver is constructing the Rivenhall Facility, which will process circa 595,000t of residual waste per annum and produce electricity to power in the region of, 60,000 homes. Indaver is now hiring 65 specialist personnel to maintain and operate this large scale process plant.
The Process Engineer is considered to be a key managerial and technologic support position, reporting to the operational management of the Plant in order to facilitate and to optimise the entire operational process-chain and its links with the external process connections.

Role

  • Advise on procedures to ensure safe processing of waste products
  • Delivery of technologic advice during installation and process safety reviews
  • Follow-up of emission and residue parameters and define operational actions
  • Monitoring the compliance of the operation of the Incinerator and gas cleaning facility with the good practice and the relevant environmental, legal, license and internal norms
  • Follow-up of delivered waste and preparation of a bunker disposal and mixing plan
  • Monitor plant performance
  • Project management for new plant and upgrades
  • Site point of contact for external electricity stakeholders
  • Comply with grid code and keep the plant in line with electricity market changes

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor degree or Masters degree in Engineering (Industrial Chemistry, Metallurgy, Environmental Sciences)
  • Experience in continuous operating process industry with furnace / steam boiler combination and flue gas cleaning equipment
  • Flexibility to work as a member of the Plant Management Team and to fulfil a related role
  • Knowledge of process equipment and its applications
  • Good communication skills, written and oral to present and justify technical proposals
  • Analytic and synthesis qualities to assess process relations and to create individual solutions
  • PC applications for data management
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK as no visa sponsorship will be offered for this position

Where and when do you work?
On-site position - Rivenhall Integrated Waste Management Facility, Woodhouse Farm, Woodhouse Lane, Kelvedon, Essex. CO5 9DF. Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week - typically 0800 - 1630.
