Pact’s Contract Manufacturing division manufactures across; laundry, household cleaning, car care, pest control, edible oils, air care and pet cleaning categories.

Our extensive and proactive research and development capabilities together with our substantial investment in technology and innovation mean we can provide lower manufacturing costs and get our customer’s products on supermarket shelves faster than our competitors.
Our new Horsley Park site has installed a state-of-the-art high speed filling lines to enable faster production in manufacturing Household and Laundry care products with a capacity to fill approximately 14,000 bottles per hour.
Job Description

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and process design.
  • Experience with process simulation software
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prior experience in process engineering at a chemical plant.
  • Experience in understanding detailed P&ID drawings.
  • Experience in Quality Management and working knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping
  • Experience of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Maintenance, Process, Production Engineering and Technical Services / Validation required.

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

  • Design and develop new chemical processes or improve existing ones to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design plant layouts, equipment specifications, and control systems.
  • Monitor process performance, collect data, and analyze it to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process control systems to automate and optimize production processes.
  • Oversee commissioning and startup of new process units, ensuring seamless integration into existing production systems.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards and regulations.
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including flow diagrams, operating procedures, and technical reports.
  • Develop manufacturing and production processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, testing manufacturing methods and equipment, and conferring with equipment vendors when necessary.
  • Identify, plan, and implement key projects to expand process and product capabilities, improve quality, reduce waste, and increase productivity, utilisation & efficiency that will result in significant business improvement and customer satisfaction.
