Description:
DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CHEMICAL PROCESSES ON AN INDUSTRIAL SCALE, AND ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT MAINTAINING AND OPTIMIZING PROCESS QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE? IF SO, YOU MIGHT BE OUR NEW HEARTWORKING COLLEAGUE IN OUR PROCESS & TECHNOLOGY TEAM
As we grow and invest significantly in expanding our production capacity, we maintain a constant focus on improving current processes. Therefore, we are seeking a Process Engineer who takes responsibility for trouble-shooting and improving global production processes through systematic problem-solving and structured project execution, primarily in our chemical processes.
You will be part of our Process & Technology team, which for now counts 5 experienced specialists. As a team, we highly value professional collaboration and through mentoring and knowledge exchange, we proactively support ongoing optimization and maintenance of our production while facilitating the introduction of new production processes and equipment.
Overall you will be met with colleagues that enjoy putting their specialist knowledge into action every day, and you will report to Process & Technology Manager Søren Østergaard.
The position is located in Juelsminde but the team has global reach, and thus, the work will include international assignments (expected max of 20 travel days/year).
CANDIDATE PROFILE
You have a background in chemistry, such as a Master’s in Chemistry, or a chemical engineer, preferably with a focus on organic chemistry. Applicants with other natural science education with applicable experience will also be considered.
We prefer that you have at least a couple of years of experience in problem-solving in a chemical production environment /chemical processes on an industrial scale. If you have experience with distillation processes and/or reaction chemistry, we consider it a significant advantage.
The position involves project management of smaller installation and upgrade projects, where you keep track of progress and manage a variety of stakeholders and contribute with your chemical engineering expertise. In your daily work, you will have a broad interface, so it’s important that you enjoy working cross-organizationally and in the field between production, maintenance, the quality and safety organization, product management, automation, and planning. Additionally, you are good at building transparent and trustworthy relationships.
It is crucial that you have a good technical understanding of IT systems such as ERP/MES/SCADA. At the same time, you are accustomed to working in Excel or similar software, where data processing and statistical analysis are involved. You approach things analytically and structurally while challenging and seeking new methods and solutions to current processes and habits. Since the main load will be focused on the Danish site but we also work internationally, the position requires proficiency in both Danish and English, both written and spoken.
Last but not least, the position presupposes that, in words and actions, you can identify with our values: Loyalty, Accountability, and Engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Driving and documenting systematic problem-solving
- Developing and updating technical design specifications for process equipment (TDS)
- Participating in CAPEX projects as a process and engineering responsible
- Managing smaller installation and upgrade projects as a project manager and process specialist
- Participating in New Product Implementation
- Handling and documenting product and process deviations (root cause/corrective actions)
- Handling Customer Complaints related to the production process
- Leading Continuous Improvement activities
- Supporting production in ad hoc challenges related to the production process and during audits.
