JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now seeking a Process Engineer to join our high-performing team.
Reporting to the Area Technical Manager, you operate within our Short Term / Production Engineering team to assess, analyse, and deliver effective chemical process outcomes to improve the reliability and integrity of the refinery.
In this role you will be active in the day-to-day operations, developing and designing process improvements enhancing profitability, reliability, and safety. Working alongside a great team of experienced engineers who will support your growth technically and professionally while delivering key products to the Australian Economy.

WE WILL CONSIDER CANDIDATES WITH PROJECTS, DESIGN OR OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE, IDEALLY FROM THE PETROCHEMICAL SECTOR.

The right candidate will enjoy solving complex operational problems, improving plant performance and downtime, and optimising an integrated facility for economics and energy efficiency. The role includes robust stakeholder engagement across the Refinery leadership teams, economics and scheduling and process control.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You are a degree qualified Chemical / Process Engineer ideally with 2-5 years of experience in the petrochemical (or related heavy industry).
  • You hold operational experience in petrochemical processes.
  • You are experienced with process simulation software / IT (e.g., HYSYS and Plant data extract tools).
  • MS Office skills in Excel, Word etc.
  • Skilled at influencing through others and an ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
  • Experienced in identifying areas for improvement and able to work cross functionally with other technical areas of the site.
  • Experience with HAZOP and other Risk Analysis (e.g., LOPA) is beneficial.
