Description:

CMC are hiring! We have a permanent opportunity for a newly created Process Improvement Specialist to join our Post Trade Operations team, based in our Barangaroo, Sydney office. Please note that we operate onsite working and would require you to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.
Please note that this role is only open to Sydney based candidates with full, permanent working rights (Citizen/Permanent Resident).
Role Purpose:
Responsible for uplifting the documentation of all Post Trade Operations procedures and identifying processes that need changing and articulating the requirements to a business analyst and the wider development team.
The Post Trade Operations team are responsible for all aspects of the clearing and settlement of customer transactions on ASX & Cboe Australia as well as the settlement of transactions conducted on 15 overseas exchanges. The team is also responsible for interacting with ASX CHESS for the maintenance of customer holdings, providing custodial operations services for international holdings held with an external custodian and for the management of taxation reporting.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the update and enhancement of all Post Trade Operations procedures and migrating these to a new Confluence page which will be the go forward repository of all procedures across Operations.
  • Provide proactive input and expertise in drafting, maintaining and regularly reviewing the Post Trade Operations team’s procedures on Confluence to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
  • Drive operational improvements and efficiencies within the team and in interactions with other internal teams whilst ensuring that the team are maintaining a high standard of quality and service
  • Identifying and sourcing benchmark information for comparison, where relevant.
  • Identifying process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identifying potential compliance and legal issues in operational processes, collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Researching and analysing existing operational processes using data analysis, observation, interviews, and policy reviews.
  • Establishment reporting mechanisms to track productivity, quality assurance and other key performance measures to optimise processes.
  • Take ownership and accountability for process improvements working collaboratively with other Operations teams to drive a client centric and service-oriented culture across Operations, putting the client at the heart of everything we do.
  • Read and comply with company policies and procedures related to employment.
  • Remain informed of market, regulatory and internal policy changes and requirements that may have an impact on the Post Trade Operations Team.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Scrupulous attention to detail
  • Experience of working in an administrative, continuous improvement role, ideally within financial services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong analytical abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of financial services operational processes
  • Experience in process improvement, including identifying necessary changes and articulating requirements to internal stakeholders.
  • Operates with integrity and an exceptionally high client centric mind-set
  • Proven track record of initiating, building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to collaborate within the team and across teams to achieve desirable outcomes
  • Ability to quickly acquire expert knowledge of our products and platform
  • Broad knowledge of work processes and quality system requirements
  • Strong analytical, and written and verbal communication skills
