Description:

Are you passionate about enhancing operational efficiency and creating impactful solutions? Join Mallot Creek as a Process Improvement Specialist and play a key role in shaping the future of leading food processing companies.
Working directly with major food processing clients, you will be responsible for process planning, design, and implementation for capital projects, as well as managing client relationships. With your deep understanding of the latest food and beverage technologies and techniques, you will ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget while fostering strong, positive relationships across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate professionally, both in writing and verbally, with clients, suppliers, project managers, and other stakeholders to implement changes effectively.
- Stay up to date on new food processing technologies, expanding your knowledge to benefit clients.
- Identify areas for improvement, gather data, and assess production processes to justify changes or enhancements quantitatively.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and improve performance.
- Attend on-site client meetings and perform on-site analysis at various food manufacturing locations.
- Work independently and contribute opinions confidently in a collaborative environment.
- Adapt to various food manufacturing environments, including meat processing plants and bakeries.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of processing machines and their integration.
- Engaging and persuasive presentation skills.
- Exceptional written communication and experience in creating compelling reports and proposals.
- Fundamental understanding of basic food safety principles.
- Proficient time management and project management skills to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Hands-on experience working with MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel (e.g., pivot tables/charts, vlookup, and statistical functions) and intermediate Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and improvement tools.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar software for viewing and editing plant layouts.
- A valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and a willingness to travel occasionally, including out-of-province trips.
Education & Experience
- College or University diploma/degree in Food Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in food manufacturing or process improvement.
- Exposure to the Agri-food, beverage, and/or pharmaceutical industries is an asset.
