REQUIREMENTS
- Preference will be given to candidates that possess an ABSA Power Engineering Certificate of Competency (3rd or 4th Class)
- Diploma education, in Engineering Technology or comparable areas.
- The successful candidate will carry out routine operating procedures including starting and shutting down equipment, equipment isolations, process recording and monitoring, and housekeeping responsibilities.
- The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of facility operations experience and will be proficient in troubleshooting and resolving issues pertaining to operations.

Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will work as a Process Operations Technician, either on an alternating 12-hour shift as a member of the shift team, or in an 8-hour Day office during business hours (i.e. non-shift).
- The successful candidate will work effectively in a team environment, be self motivated, and have a strong mechanical aptitude.
- The successful candidate will interact with mentors (site manager, sponsor, experienced senior leaders in operations) and discuss their progress with them regularly.
- The successful candidate will ensure safe operation and control of the assigned operating areas within specified operating conditions.
- The successful candidate will perform sampling and analysis of process elements affecting quality in their assigned operating areas, allowing them to make educated improvements to the process.
- The successful candidate will report any variances in the assigned operating areas and contribute to ensuing investigations along with established corrective and preventive actions.
- The successful candidate will adhere and contribute to the various facets within the Safety, Environmental, Occupational Health and Responsible Care backgrounds at Evonik.
- The successful candidate will have experience with planning, scheduling and completing routine required tasks in an accountable manner.
