As a Process Safety Engineer, you’ll be the guardian of safe operations, preventing incidents by identifying and mitigating risks in manufacturing processes. This involves conducting hazard analyses, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You’ll design and implement safety systems, investigate incidents, and provide training to ensure a safe working environment for everyone. Your expertise will be crucial in protecting people, the environment, and the company’s reputation.
This position is part of the initial phase of recruitment for an exciting new venture. At Bespak Holmes Chapel, we are investing significantly to expand our capacity to develop and manufacture pMDIs (Asthma Inhalers) with greener propellants to meet evolving sustainability standards in the industry. As a Process Safety Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Conduct process hazard analyses (HAZOP, LOPA, What-If).
  • Perform risk assessments (QRA, FMEA, FTA).
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA PSM, COMAH).
  • Develop and implement safety systems (SIS, pressure relief).
  • Investigate incidents and conduct root cause analyses.
  • Deliver process safety training to staff and contractors.

Process Safety Engineer, beneficial key skills and experience:

  • Qualified in Chemical/Mechanical/Process Engineering, or related field.
  • Process safety experience in a relevant industry.
  • Knowledge of hazard analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with OSHA PSM and other regulations.
  • Understanding of process design and safety systems.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Bespak are looking for a Process Safety Engineer for the Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE. The salary range for this permanent onsite role is between £54,000 and £64,000 plus a discretionary annual bonus. Other benefits you will receive are 25 days leave plus bank holidays, a generous 10% pension contribution, onsite free parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance.
Working Pattern – Monday to Friday usual working times of 8.30am to 5.00pm with an 8:30am to 3:45pm finish on a Friday. There is some flexibility on start and finish times.
