Your role at Clorox:
The Process Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement within our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for analyzing and enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), leading key initiatives under the continuous improvement framework, and providing technical expertise to plant shift teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of automated packaging equipment, and the ability to train and mentor team members. By fostering a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency, the Process Specialist will contribute significantly to our mission of achieving superior production performance and maintaining high standards of operational reliability.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive OEE results improvement by analyzing monthly data and creating and executing action plans to address key losses (key deliverable: monthly OEE report and analysis).
  • Provide technical expertise and act as a troubleshooting resource for the Plant Shift Teams. Serve as the first line of response in case of downtime and determine if maintenance is required.
  • Develop and train troubleshooting guides as necessary.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement activities under the continuous improvement framework, including Zero-Effort Changeovers, Autonomous Maintenance, Kaizen events, Centerline development, Improvement Methods, and Reliability Improvement Plans. Utilize Loss Elimination methodology to troubleshoot. Coach lead operators and operators on using Loss Elimination as a key tool for troubleshooting.
  • Complete theory of operations training for each converting line for the Plant Shift Teams. Lead the ongoing development and training of site operations shift resources through structured and documented processes.
  • Develop, update, and teach documentation to ensure comprehensive understanding and capability within the shift teams.
  • Maintain process capabilities/rates and provide feedback to maintenance activities.
  • Lead by example in supporting the site’s safety principles and programs. Champion the site Quality strategy by documenting and maintaining process capability for product specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, fostering a culture of safety and quality throughout the facility.

Years and Type of Experience:

  • Manufacturing experience (3-5 years)
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours to support 24/7 operations

Skills and Abilities

  • Capable of effectively conveying technical information to others, considering different skills and abilities across the plant.
  • Knowledge of automated packaging equipment and/or blown film processes is an asset.
  • Structured thinking with the ability to organize and analyze facts, develop, and communicate plans aimed at achieving business objectives through teams and others.
  • Advanced and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexible with a proven ability to cope with constant change in a dynamic working environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with leadership abilities to coach, teach, and mentor.
  • Self-starting individual capable of performing their job with minimal supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, along with strong analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Continuous Improvement Training (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Project Management experience is an asset.
  • PLC knowledge and experience is an asset.

Education Level/Degree:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma: Engineering or Technologist or equivalent working experience
