Description:

The Process & Systems Excellence Lead, is a forward-thinking individual, with a passion for driving change, and a competence for understanding technical details, to help Thames Water achieve its ambition to be the leading digital first utility company.
The role is integral in ensuring that functionality within our key Operational systems is maximised to deliver optimal use of the systems capability, that supports efficiency & customer driven outcomes.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A PROCESS & SYSTEM EXCELLENCE LEAD

The Process & Systems Excellence Lead is responsible for proactively and reactively taking ownership for activity that takes an idea through a structured process, to understand the opportunity for cost & efficiency savings, and making that idea become a reality. Day to day you will:

  • Use established Continuous Improvement methodology to engage with stakeholders, and manage the implementation of change, with tangible & evidenced benefits/improvements.
  • Undertake and provide meaningful analysis that helps support the identification and tracking of improvements/benefits.
  • Support & drive for successful implementations of technical deployments led by the Product Owner team.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert knowledge, to assist in the testing of new functionality.
  • Provide pre-deployment training, briefings and How To Guides where appropriate, to stakeholders impacted by technical change.
  • Ensure processes subject to change in the supported business area are captured/updated within Thames Water’s preferred Process Mapping Tool (Bizz Design).
  • Ensure Process & Systems Analyst activities are understood, so that coverage can be provided in the event of absence.
  • Ensure self learning is undertaken to improve own ability to deliver successful change/outcomes, but also provide a minimal level of coverage to stakeholders supported by own team colleagues.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE

You will have the ability to see problems from a variety of different perspectives; to have great interpersonal skills and are able to co-ordinate & drive teamwork; to be technically minded to understand links in a process and the implications & benefits of change; and the perseverance & creativity to overcome obstacles to success.

You will work well using their own initiative; and also develop excellent relationships with stakeholders, to achieve sustainable levels of high quality performance across Team Thames; building a strong reputation for themselves & the team of successful delivery.

  • Experience of using Workforce Planning & Scheduling systems. (Salesforce specifically would be beneficial)
  • Experience of building business cases to support change.
  • Experience of Process Mapping tools and methodology.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Tools to a sufficient standard whereby you can turn data into insight, and articulate & present technical detail to stakeholders of varying seniority levels and technical understanding.
  • Experience of owning and leading Projects/Continuous Improvement activities, that have resulted in cost/efficiency benefits.
  • Ability to work within structured guidelines to deliver consistency; whilst also possessing the ability to think outside the box when problem solving.
  • To maintain composure when challenges emerge unexpectedly.
  • Exceptional listening, communication and interpersonal skills to support teams in working towards a high-functioning delivery culture.
  • Ability to prioritise work demands, consistently meeting deadlines.
  • To be curious, able to ask insightful and leading questions, and to be persistent in aspiring for a deep understanding of situations.

This is a hybrid role, with time-in-office at least one day per week, plus additional office days as applicable in line with face-to-face stakeholder meetings/business needs.

  • 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (Plus bank holidays)
  • Offering a salary of up to £45,000 per annum depending on skills and previous experience.
