Description:

This is an exciting part opportunity to work as part of a close and supportive Operations team within Strategic Pumping and Trunk Sewers. You will be focused on maintaining and improving our strategic pumping stations across a designated catchment and providing support to the team on larger-scale projects.
The role of this technician is to perform a range of activities to ensure that all the plant and equipment associated with strategic pumping stations and trunk sewers in London are kept serviceable and ready to be operated safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A PROCESS TECHNICIAN (PUMPING)

  • Performing routine checks, basic planned preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to maintain the smooth operation of the pumping station.
  • Conducting monitoring checks to ensure optimal plant performance and identifying any emerging trends.
  • Carrying out safety tasks to maintain a safe operating environment, including statutory testing for legionella, fire safety, and housekeeping.
  • Managing our customers’ network by operating large storm pumping stations.
  • Operating large mechanical equipment to safely isolate plants and control hydraulic flow.
  • Conducting confined space entries for inspections, maintenance, and fault-finding purposes.
  • Base Location: Camberley, GU15 3YL.
    Working Pattern: Monday – Friday 07:30- 15:36, a standby on a five-week rotation basis, ensuring that Home Counties is provided with 24/7 storm protection.
    A duty standby allowance is paid on top of the salary basic, and in addition, a call-out fee and overtime are paid for all out-of-hours work.
    Requirements for the role: Full UK manual driving licence.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Having a mechanical background would provide a great advantage in this position.
  • Experience working outdoors with manual labour would be a valuable asset.
  • We’re seeking someone with endless energy, ready to exceed expectations.
  • Some computer data input /enquiry experience is desirable.
  • A UK manual driving license is essential.
