Process Technologist / Management Associate

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Administration of the Stelco safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the Operating facility
• Communicate, direct, and facilitate the overall operation of the facility; build constructive relationships; ensure accountability, engage employees, and promote teamwork and responsibility to improve employee morale; and ensure consistent productivity and cost
• Directly manage the workforce and coordinate all administrative activities pertaining to that responsibility including performance reviews, employee evaluations and related documentation
• Making design and proc ess modifications to existing equipment to reduce maintenance downtime , improve reliability, improve process flow and improve product quality
• Performing equipment root cause failure analysis and making appropriate recommendations to improve operations .
• Assist in the design, development, and optimization of steel production processes.
• Conduct research and analysis to support engineering and production teams.
• Build teams and collaborate to acquire a strong understanding of the ro lling process and drive continuous improvement.
• Working with consultants and equipment vendors to ensure process requirements and applicable standards and codes are met
• Investigate process improvements and participate in facilities upgrades .

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical discipline
• 1 – 2 years of professional or manufacturing work experience preferred
• Previous work experience in a unionized work environment is an asset
