Job Description
We are currently seeking a Chemical Process Technology Specialist for our Product lines AKD Sizing and Rosin Sizing.
Location: Home or office/plant based in Europe
All candidates must be eligible to work in Europe. Please be aware that we do not offer a relocation package if you are considering relocating. We do not provide visa support for this role.
The Process Technology Specialist will serve as the Process Owner and subject matter expert for the assigned product lines (AKD Sizing and Rosin Sizing) and plants across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Working closely with Plant Operations, Product Managers, Research Scientists, and support groups, the Specialist will play a pivotal role in achieving business and supply chain goals. Responsibilities include conducting product sourcing, debottlenecking, and expansion analyses, as well as leading new product scale-up and commercialization efforts. Additionally, the Specialist will identify and implement best practices and cost improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities That Await You:

  • Conduct pilot plant and plant scale-up trials and support the commercialization of new products. Prepare and maintain technical data files, including formulations, raw material, process & product specifications
  • Plan and drive trials/changes to improve quality, reduce costs, and maximize productivity
  • Lead product line steering teams; identify and implement best practices and improvements
  • Conduct network capacity, sourcing, debottlenecking, and expansion analyses
  • Support process design for capital projects
  • Assist in toll manufacturing, insourcing, and make versus buy analysis

The Ideal Candidate Possesses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, preferably Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, Operations or R&D, with preference given to those with experience in a chemical plant manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes & plant operations, fundamental engineering & chemistry principles, technical resource for plants, EHS standards, business & financial principles
  • Proficient in data analysis, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and statistics, with the ability to draw conclusions
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build consensus and influence others; results-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in local language as well as in English
  • Proficient in planning and decision-making
  • Adherence to high ethical, safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Willingness to travel for business trips, typically ranging from 20-35% initially
