JOB SUMMARY
The focus of the Processing Specialist is to analyze and optimize our plastic injection molding processes while ensuring optimal production efficiency, quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with company safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering related field.
- Proven experience working with plastic injection and/or blow molding is a must
- Proficiency in injection molding process parameters, machinery, and mold design.
- Injection Molding Professional Certification is an asset.
- Experience with process optimization tools and techniques, such as DOE (Design of Experiments) and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD software and mold flow simulation tools is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate current cycle times of injection molding machines and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce cycle times without compromising product quality. This includes optimizing parameters such as cooling time, injection speed, and clamping force.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to mold performance, machinery, and materials that impact overall efficiency.
- Monitor and record processing data, including cycle time, machine utilization, and downtime, to analyze trends and drive improvements.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, mold shop, and production teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of process changes, optimization efforts, and results to support quality assurance and compliance standards.
- Provide training and guidance to setup and process technicians on best practices for process optimization and machine operation.
- Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that optimized processes maintain the highest product quality standards.
- Ensure that all optimization activities comply with company safety standards and industry regulations.
- Active participation required in 5S initiatives, continuous improvements, and mini projects.
- Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned.
