The Procurement Advisor will execute end to end procurement lifecycle including: Support RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, supplier selection, supplier due diligence, and contract negotiation and execution working with legal counsel, information security and other cross functional areas of the organization to ensure agreements meet TMX policies and standards
Now Hiring: Procurement Advisor (15 month contract)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Execute end to end procurement lifecycle including: Support RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, supplier selection, supplier due diligence, and contract negotiation and execution working with legal counsel, information security and other cross functional areas of the organization to ensure agreements meet TMX policies and standards.
  • Work on both complex and administrative tasks throughout the end to end procurement engagement.
  • Actively manage and lead day-to-day supplier relationships for productive, mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Apply business intelligence and reporting made available by the Manager, Analysis and Reporting in order to make actionable recommendations on sourcing and supplier management for key suppliers.
  • Takes a project management approach to managing multiple simultaneous complex sourcing files and ensures deliverables are met within the required timelines.
  • Ensure that the outcomes of due diligence supported by the procurement team e.g, financial health of the supplier are clearly understood by spend owners and all applicable procurement risk assessment protocols/procedures are complied with.
  • Responsible for accurate data and analysis in monthly and quarterly reports to the team.
  • Engage end client stakeholders to understand key priorities and communicate and report to functional leadership and end client stakeholders the status of agreements and any critical external relationships that could otherwise impact planning and decision making.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze performance and trends within categories to identify issues and opportunities that support the business.
  • Contribute to the development of improved strategic sourcing strategies and processes.
  • Identify high impact cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support the resolution of sophisticated contract related issues with suppliers as needed
  • Leverage the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience managing activities across the end-to-end IT procurement lifecycle
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Track record of delivering on commitments and meeting client expectations
  • Responds to clients inquiries with a sense of urgency and putting clients first
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Builds relationships with internal and external partners to drive engagement and ensure their input and support using problem-solving, persuasion, and proactive communication skills
  • Strong negotiating, persuading, and influencing skills
  • Is a change agent and embraces new ways of working, tools, and technologies.
  • Keeps up to date on new industry trends and best practices

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
