Description:

Optiver is looking for a Procurement Analyst to help advance and enable our technology strategy while ensuring operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The Procurement team drives strategic initiatives that ensure we source goods and services efficiently and at the most competitive prices. We balance profitability, sustainability, and a stable production environment to support Optiver’s long-term growth.

WHO WE ARE:

Optiver is a proprietary trading firm and leading global market maker. As one of the oldest market making institutions, we are a trusted partner of 50+ exchanges across the globe. Our mission is to constantly improve the market by injecting liquidity, providing accurate pricing, increasing transparency and acting as a stabilising force no matter the market conditions. With a focus on continuous improvement, we participate in the safeguarding of healthy and efficient markets for everyone who participates.
Our Amsterdam office is where it all began. Over 35 years ago, Optiver’s business started with a single trader on the floor of Amsterdam’s European Stock Exchange. Since our 1986 founding, Optiver’s Amsterdam office has grown into one of the most dynamic and exciting trading floors in Europe. Our culture reflects the Dutch capital city’s progressive, innovative and inclusive nature. With its unique spirit, Amsterdam is the ideal hub for our teams to trade a wide range of products from listed derivatives to cash equities, ETFs, bonds and foreign exchange.

Responsibilities:

As a Procurement Analyst, you will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, leading purchasing initiatives, managing spend reconciliation, and optimizing procurement processes. You’ll play a key role in ensuring procurement operates smoothly and continually adds value to the business. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with both business and technical aspects of a leading market maker, providing valuable procurement experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Daily Procurement Operations: Lead the purchase of goods and services, working with Accounts Payable, Legal, technical teams, and vendors to procure hardware, software, and services in a standardized manner. Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders about purchase progress and timelines.
  • Reconciliation Process: Own and manage all reconciliation processes for procurement-related spend. Investigate and resolve discrepancies efficiently while collaborating with Finance, Accounts Payable, and Tax to ensure payments are accurate and timely.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor-related issues, especially regarding billing and supply chain concerns. Ensure prompt resolution of any disruptions to goods or service fulfillment.
  • Spend Analytics & Reporting: Analyze procurement spend to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for cost optimization. Develop and share data-driven insights to equip business leaders with better decision-making tools.
  • Process Development: Continuously improve procurement and reconciliation processes. Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
