  • Please note this is a 14-month term position.

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for facilitating strategic sourcing initiatives including planning and facilitating market research and competitive procurement processes, contributing to the delivery of AMA’s procurement and contract management programs. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency, cost savings, and risk mitigation in sourcing and contracting initiatives. Your meticulous attention to detail will be an asset as you perform competitive processes, contract negotiations, and vendor management. With your knack for problem-solving, you will be a master in analyzing market trends, evaluating supplier performance, and implementing innovative procurement strategies.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Report to the Manager, Procurement and Contract Services.
  • Recommend and execute innovative sourcing, procurement and contract management strategies and initiatives, driving efficiency and value.
  • Manage the strategic sourcing of vendors and other third-party arrangements; including creating and evaluating vendor selection strategies, implementing cost-saving strategies, mitigating risk and managing organizational spend.
  • Monitor procurement and market trends to proactively identify opportunities and support decision making.
  • Oversee record management activities within the procurement and contract management lifecycle.
  • Provide expertise and support in contract negotiation.
  • Maintain compliance with procurement and contract management policies, monitor and manage risks.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with management teams and suppliers/vendors, building trust and confidence.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • A post-secondary degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is desirable.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, contract management, or related role.
  • Completion of a professional designation or program through Supply Chain Canada (SCC) or other recognized institutions would be desirable.
