Description:

NATURE OF WORK

Under general supervision, this position will perform paraprofessional level purchasing of a variety of goods and services for various agencies under the Department of Homeland Security as well as the Division of Administrative Services. This position will be responsible for records management activities, including creating and maintaining purchasing files for the purchasing section. Implements and maintains contract tracking system. Assists in determining the most cost-effective and feasible types of goods and services to reduce or maintain expenses. May purchase goods and services by purchasing card for customer agencies and facilities and the Division of Administrative Services. Prepares a variety of purchasing documents in WVOasis financial application. Coordinates delivery of goods and services with customer agencies and customer facilities. Monitors orders to ensure they meet contract requirements and arrive in good condition and on time. Checks requisitions for accuracy and completeness and requests any additional information needed from the requestor to complete the purchase order. Types and/or assembles requisitions, correspondence, memos and reports as requested by supervisors and management. This position will perform other duties as assigned.
