Description:

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Significant knowledge in a Procurement management or category management role with experience relevant to the areas outlined in the job description.
  • Demonstrable experience of:
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies
  • Contract law and dispute resolution
  • Statistical and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of market areas related to specific work categories
  • Risk assessment / analysis
  • Experience of managing complex projects to time and on budget
  • Experience of applying principles of change management
  • Evidence of ability to plan, develop and implement initiatives without direct supervision
  • Able to gain the confidence, co-operation and enthusiasm of non-finance managers, including Directors, in communicating complex, technical financial information.
  • Experience of being accountable for high value complex procurements
  • In possession of CIPS Professional Diploma – CIPS Level 6 (or equivalent) or keen to embark on training leading to a professional purchasing/supply qualification.

Responsibilities:

KEY DUTIES

  • Provide a professional, customer focused Procurement service to all user departments.
  • Responsible for the management of the Senior Purchasing Advisor, including managing breaks, leave periods and undertaking annual performance reviews.
  • Responsible as the leading technical expert for providing a comprehensive procurement service ensuring compliance and adherence to all policies and procedures, including the London Clinic’s standing financial instructions in the delivery of all procurement activity.
  • Responsible for providing highly complex, expert advice and coordination of all procurement and contracting issues within category. Reporting and presenting as required to multiple senior stakeholders via Prince 2 methodology (or equivalent) in both written and verbal formats.
  • Gain competitive advantage for the London Clinic by identifying best practice and leveraging the London Clinic’s spend by implementing a category management strategy, delivering effective procurements through effective project work i.e. procurement activity, such as data analysis, benchmarking, drafting procurement documents, administering tender management; and supporting the management of key supplier relationships to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality.
  • Develop a culture within the team that identifies and communicates the contribution that procurement makes to an effective and efficient service.
