Our Procurement team here at the Council is intrinsically connected to our organisation’s vision and strategic priorities. The team is not only focused on enhancing operational and commercial outcomes, but also on delivering a sustainable and innovative service that is robust and transparent.

As the Procurement and Contracts Category Lead you will be responsible for leading and managing end-to-end procurement projects within the Infrastructure space with varying levels of complexity.

- Hours of work: Full-time Permanent Position
- Location: This position is primarily based at Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street. Christchurch
- Salary - The salary band for this position is from $93,200 - $103,336 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.Closing Date - Thursday 7th November 2024
Responsibilities:
- You will act as a leading contributor to the efficient and effective management of Christchurch City Council’s procurement (incorporating sourcing and contract management) activities in the field of Infrastructure
- Lead and manage allocated end-to-end sourcing projects which will often be low to medium risk and/or high risk
- Supporting the Procurement Manager and Procurement and Contracts Category Lead, you will develop and implement category strategies that support Council’s strategic objectives and maximise Council’s realisation of benefits.
- The role also incorporates Contract Management (when required to do so), to lead the development and implementation of contract management plans for operational contracts
