Description:

Are you interested in a new and challenging opportunity? We are looking for a Procurement Engineer to be responsible for not only establishing the technical and quality assurance requirements in order to procure a product or service, but the processes which define the role of Procurement Engineering. Do you have experience reviewing, creating or revising engineering evaluations, technical specifications, component specifications, standard purchasing clauses, procurement specifications, item equivalency evaluations, commercial grade dedication plans, and engineering standards? The main function of this role would be to perform assessments of components to ensure that the technical and quality requirements are aligned with the appropriate design basis documents, preparation/revision of design standards, technical specifications, procedural and program documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and/or review Procurement Engineering deliverables.
  • Liaising with design staff, vendor community, technical staff and maintenance staff to obtain technical input as required to prepare a complete Procurement Specification or Technical Evaluation
  • Providing advice to Chalk River Laboratories (CRL) site staff (Engineering, Projects, and Maintenance) on the Procurement process.
  • Preparing and/ or reviewing Bills of Material (Spare Parts Lists)
  • Liaising with Supply Chain and Procurement QA on Procurement related matters (OS&D’S, Inspection, Vendor substitutes, technical discrepancies)
  • Proactively supporting and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to internal or external technical meetings; participate on topical working groups, process improvement teams, etc.
  • Performing other related duties as required Position will transition to Procurement Engineer on attainment of P. Eng. licence.
