Description:
- Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee all procurement activities for their poultry feed company.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management, strategic sourcing, and negotiation skills.
- This role will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies at optimal costs while ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the agriculture or food industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, strategies, and best practices.
- Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a robust procurement strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating favorable contracts to optimize costs and ensure reliable supply.
- Conduct regular market research to identify trends, cost fluctuations, and potential supply disruptions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure timely deliveries.
- Manage purchase orders, track shipments, and coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock levels to minimize holding costs and avoid stockouts.
- Continuously analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and savings.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives, such as bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, and negotiation strategies.
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular evaluations, and implement performance improvement plans.
- Resolve any supplier-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Track and report on procurement expenses and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure that all procured materials meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with quality control teams to identify and resolve any quality issues.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as supply shortages, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
- Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
