This is a 6-month contract role, based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney.

About the role
As a Procurement Manager at Transurban, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and driving the sourcing activities across our diverse infrastructure categories. Your expertise will be crucial in managing both operating and capital expenditures, ensuring that our projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. Working on national projects and initiatives, your strong procurement knowledge and experience will lead processes for infrastructure categories including Roadside Operations, Roadside Maintenance, Engineering Services, Mechanical & Electrical Services.

Day-to-day, you will:
- Understand business unit objectives and desired outcomes.
- Develop and execute cost-optimisation strategies for third-party suppliers and service providers.
- Support category management plans for defined categories.
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes, including stakeholder engagement, strategy development, tender management, supplier negotiations, and contract finalisation.
- Negotiate commercial terms to deliver best value solutions.
- Consolidate the supplier base through strategic partnerships.
- Perform detailed cost analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Prepare regular reports on cost optimisation activities and outcomes.
- Develop strong relationships with internal teams.

- In-depth sourcing experience, preferably in indirect categories as well as the proficiency in managing these spend categories. Degree in business, legal or engineering desirable.
- Knowledge of the sourcing process and technology-based systems (WSS), including spend analytics, with in-depth procurement experience within the infrastructure industry.
- Proven track record in evolving supply chain processes and improving strategic sourcing and category management programs.
- Strong analytical, business process analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in data entry, management, formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and visualization.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills, with a strong understanding of business and legal terms.
