As a Procurement Manager working in the Major Projects team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage project supplier/contractor relationships and key accounts to optimize financial and operational performance. Working on large-scale ICI projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will have the opportunity to identify potential subtrades and suppliers, evaluate proposals and negotiate contracts.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage project supplier and contractor relationships and accounts with assigned key/strategic suppliers to optimize financial and operational performance.
  • Identify potential subtrades and suppliers, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring best value for money.
  • Prepare tender documents for procurement of subcontractors/suppliers including term and condition of contract, construction methodologies and schedule, pricing requirements with other project team members.
  • Develop and maintain procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Monitor supplier performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Negotiate prices and conditions with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.
  • Develop and prepare reports for the managing staff to give an update of the procurement process.

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • 10+ years of experience in procurement or quantity surveying, preferably in ICI construction.
  • Experience, familiarity, and existing relationship with major local suppliers across Canada would be an asset.
  • Practical experience of procurement processes, methods, practices, contract administration, and accounting and scheduling principles.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing, contracting, negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Availability to travel to monitor supplier’s performance, production and schedules as needed.
    The expected salary range for this opportunity is $94,000 - $127,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
