About the role
As a Procurement Manager & Supplier Manager reporting into the Head of Procurement you’ll be responsible for driving various key, large and business critical procurement initiatives. Accountability for developing and implementing procurement strategies and initiatives that will directly support a cost-efficient operating model whilst ensuring that Vocus operate a sustainable and socially responsible supply chain.
You’ll be a lead point of contact for the procurement team, working to create strong business partner relationships within various divisions and own the relationship with various Managers, being an advocate for commercial and operational efficiency within the business.

Your responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing category plans, as required.
  • Managing sourcing events, setting milestones, and driving commercial, environmental, and social outcomes.
  • Supporting teams in building commercial and governance statements of work, MSA’s and pricing sheets.
  • Providing best in class coaching for technical teams in commercial, social, environmental procurement disciplines.
  • Drive negotiations directly with suppliers to achieve the best value.
  • Create data driven commercial and ESG models, to determine best (market) value opportunities and negotiation strategies.
  • Build a vendor and partner network to establish connections and prepared to receive commercial, social, and environmental benefits from new and better ways of collaborating.
  • Assist senior leaders on optimal operating models, and opportunities within their business units.
  • Analyse existing contract base and design opportunities for cost reductions, value and ESG improvements.

Responsibilities:

YOU’LL BRING TO THIS ROLE:

  • Proven track record in a similar Procurement role; company-wide projects and successfully developing, negotiating, and implementing business improvement initiatives.
  • Telecommunications and/or IT related technical knowledge; working with IT systems procurement, networks technology procurement, infrastructure procurement.
  • Experience in complex commercial negotiations highly desired.
  • Solid Excel modelling capabilities.
  • Strong commercial experience, with ESG and procurement disciplines.
  • Solid experience managing existing and developing new partner/vendor relationships (vendor assessments and negotiating complex service agreements).
  • Capability to support and influence across all levels; Executive/Senior leadership and program levels.
  • Ability to creatively challenge business as usual mindsets, curious in thinking outside the box, and pragmatic passion for driving improvements.
