Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Procurement Officer based in Dubai. The Procurement Officer will play a crucial role in managing purchase orders, analyzing specifications and Bills of Quantities (BOQs), negotiating contracts, sourcing new suppliers, and ensuring the timely delivery of orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze specifications (specs) and BOQs, ensuring they align with client requirements and approved designs.
- Promptly raise Requests for Information (RFIs) if any discrepancies are found between specs, BOQs, sales orders, and POs.
- Request pricing from suppliers based on detailed specifications and approved drawings.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers while managing and maintaining the vendor database.
- Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.
- Issue purchase orders (POs) according to approved materials and project needs.
- Place orders on time to meet project deadlines.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure orders are progressing smoothly and address any delays.
- Arrange the collection and dispatch of material samples to/from suppliers for approval.
- Organize the collection and delivery of items from external suppliers.
- Ensure timely delivery of all orders within established deadlines.
- Prepare and submit a weekly status report detailing the progress of all ongoing orders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, and contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting specifications and BOQs.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Knowledge of industry trends and procurement best practices.
- Proficiency in vendor relationship management and supplier follow-ups.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
