JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Experience in IT procurement is essential.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, generate insights, and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Procurement Officer will manage the procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are purchased at optimal value while maintaining strong supplier and internal relationships. This role focuses on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness, with a particular emphasis on IT procurement.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including tendering, negotiation, and handover of contract management to contract owners.
  • Collaborate with contract owners to monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Communicate with executives to gain approval for purchasing contracts with new vendors or for new supplies.
  • Forecast demand for IT products and place orders accordingly.
  • Raise IT purchase orders and validate invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements for IT contracts.
  • Manage the third-party due diligence process, including exception management.
  • Assist in the development of annual technology budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and support cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise procurement practices and processes.
