The Procurement Specialist is a key member of AGC Biologics’ dynamic Supply Chain team in Copenhagen and a crucial contributor to the strategic goals and ongoing development of the Procurement function. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional partners throughout the company to deliver the best value in product selection, performance, quality, service, and pricing.
About the Role
The Procurement Specialist will focus on the direct category of disposables, coordinating purchase orders, scheduling suppliers, and managing information and deliveries using MRP in a cGMP environment. Responsibilities include supplier relationship management, supply quality, driving improvements, cost reductions, and inventory management, as well as analyzing and summarizing data to ensure operational effectiveness. Our new colleague will also be responsible for maintaining purchasing-related information in the ERP system and ensuring data accuracy in support of system implementation and use.
In this role, you will have the chance to work as a procurement professional alongside an experienced team within a GMP and SCM environment. You will report to the Procurement Director.

Your Primary Tasks Will Be

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure optimal quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Process purchase orders, schedule suppliers, and manage deliveries using MRP in a cGMP environment.
  • Identify, resolve, and expedite issues to ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Coordinate product specifications, BOMs, and provide cross-functional support on initial product/supplier quality issues, tooling, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and ensure data accuracy of purchasing-related information in ERP systems.
  • Achieve optimal total cost of ownership while mitigating supplier risk and meeting project deadlines.
  • Achieve cost savings goals through bidding and negotiations.
  • Communicate at all levels to ensure proper planning, purchasing, materials management, and inventory control objectives are met and aligned with company goals.

Qualifications

  • Ability to establish successful cross-functional relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and efficient manner at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and time constraints.
  • Understanding of total cost of ownership, lead-time, and risks associated with procurement activities.
  • Understanding of, or interest in, material specifications and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of procurement concepts, global supply chain processes, activities, and trends.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with both large and small suppliers globally.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills in English and Danish.
  • Commercial/BS/BA degree in a related field required (e.g., Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering).
  • 2+ years of experience in procurement (experience in the life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries is an advantage).
  • Experience using ERP systems in a cGMP environment (experience with Axapta/Dynamics 365 is an advantage).
  • Knowledge of contract creation, negotiation, and administration.
