Description:
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will work in a variety of tasks and activities:
- Follow up on non-delivered goods with suppliers/customers in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Identify and provide products and/or suppliers to assist in improving profit margins, considering total cost of business, without compromising product quality or service.
- Seek goods as a special buy stock which are at lower cost than normal goods to reduce costs to internal customers.
- Conduct applicable product sampling session. If in the services area, periodically provide intel into new service opportunities.
- Assist with ad-hoc project/event product sourcing based on what the user requests to support the event. Work with internal customers to support special event needs.
- Support the addition of new items to restaurants catalogue.
- Ensuring data is accurately entered in the PeopleSoft system, including, price, descriptions, orders, vendor priority, lead times and other aspects per the SOP.
- System Data maintenance to ensure ongoing accuracy by regular review as orders come through and confirmation on a monthly basis with suppliers via email/Excel.
- Develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Liaise with suppliers on market trends and changes in product availability.
- Regularly release market updates to internal customers on status of good and services, quality, availability and expected trends.
- Attend trade shows and supplier visits.
- Develop a strong understanding of internal business unit needs by meeting regularly.
