Procurement Specialist

We are inviting applications for the role of Procurement Specialist in our Newport News, Virginia location. The selected candidate will form an integral part of our team, managing small purchases, contract management, and obtaining quotes among other tasks. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

• Responsible for the management of small purchases and ensuring they align with the company’s needs and budget.
• Oversee contract management, which includes negotiations, performance tracking, and termination of contracts when necessary.
• Obtain quotes from various vendors and suppliers for comparison and decision making.
• Utilize skills and knowledge in Corporate Procurement and e-Procurement to enhance efficiency.
• Handle additional tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the procurement department.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
• Proven expertise in Corporate Procurement.
• Demonstrable skills in e-Procurement.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with procurement software and databases.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of procurement procedures and regulations.
• High level of integrity and adherence to professional ethics.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
