Job Description Summary
A stepping stone role for an ambitious person that wants to develop into a procurement or supply chain manager.
The Procurement & Supply chain associate is responsible for the On time and In full supply of all direct and indirect spend raw materials, packaging and selected services of the Livingston site for approximately 80% of its time. For the remaining time, the role will support the Corporate and European organization with procurement and supply chain execution tasks and also manage the site facility needs.
The Livingston production site is the largest site in Elementis Europe, producing chemical specialties for a wide range of end markets such as Coatings and Personal care. The Procurement and Supply chain associate will closely work with all site cross functions as well as with regional and global stakeholders. Though working at a large scale production site, you will work in a small, informal and experienced team with a high diversity. Outside the plant, there are >1000 colleagues as well as many vendors and service providers from all over the globe.

Job Description
Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and optimise stock quantities to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Reconcile inventory movements for three relevant sites on a weekly basis.
  • Work closely with warehousing and plant teams, reviewing stock reports.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager in managing supply plans, considering capacity constraints, lead times, and market dynamics.
  • Participate in cross-functional monthly supply chain planning meetings to assess demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory requirements.
  • Handle administrative and financial tasks related to procurement activities.

Order Processing:

  • Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for products using JDE.
  • Monitor and track deliveries to ensure the timely receipt of goods.
  • Liaise with suppliers to troubleshoot issues related to orders and deliveries.
  • Complete new supplier onboarding processes and maintain procurement records.
  • Process orders for plant invoices and handle office supply acquisitions.
  • Request quotations and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.

Office Administration:

  • Manage and reconcile invoices and paperwork with the Accounts team.
  • Process payments, invoices, payroll, and receipts; enter data into JDE, update invoices, and reconcile purchase orders.
  • Update spreadsheets and files, compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Process timesheets and support payroll activities.
  • Monitor generic email inboxes and handle account queries.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including printing, photocopying, and other office support.
  • Support other contracts as required.

  • Supply Chain Knowledge: While experience in supply chain management or procurement is a plus, it is not a requirement.
  • Commercial acumen: understands the business and how value is created and safeguarded. Able to identify growth- and saving opportunities.

Additional Job Description

Experience & Education:

  • Education & Experience: Must possess a degree and/or relevant work experience. Strong industry knowledge is preferred.
  • IT Skills: ERP systems (JD Edwards highly preferred) or SAP
  • Excellent MS office application skills of which Excel is a must.
  • Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English language for business use.
  • Working arrangements: 3-4 days on the site in Livingston
  • Travel: Ad hoc based and up to maximum 5% of time
