ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience producing theatre across diverse scales and formats.
- Vision, motivation, and enthusiasm for theatre production.
- Proven expertise in negotiating and drafting contracts.
- A broad network of contacts within the theatre industry in Ireland and beyond.
- Strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Creative and resourceful problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing and leading large and diverse teams.
- High proficiency in IT, particularly MS Excel.

Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This is a new position reporting to the Head of Producing. The Producer will lead and provide support across the Abbey Theatre’s programme, working closely with diverse theatre makers, including writers, directors, actors, musicians, designers, and co-producers.
The Producer will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing productions, projects, and events on the Abbey and Peacock stages, as well as national and international tours. They will ensure that all work aligns with the Abbey Theatre’s mission to produce high-quality, ambitious, and diverse productions that engage audiences and achieve financial and artistic goals.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the delivery of the Abbey Theatre’s artistic vision within structural and financial constraints.
- Foster effective relationships with venue managers, agents, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as required to support the organisation’s objectives.
