You will be joining a team of 35 staff members including Executive Producers, Senior Producers, Producers, Facilitators and Operations Assistants led by the Director, Audiences and Public Engagement.

Responsibilities:

THIS POSITION IS BASED IN IWM NORTH WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE ROLE WILL REQUIRE PERIODIC TRAVEL ACROSS OUR 5 BRANCHES.

This is a full-time, permanent role with some occasional weekend and evening work as required which will be renumerated through time off in lieu.
You should have a good understanding of both formal and informal public engagement and learning practices, with demonstrable experience of working with one or more of the following: schools, families, adults, young people and community groups.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting Senior Producers to create, plan, deliver, facilitate, and evaluate distinctive Learning and Engagement events and programmes, working collaboratively across IWM.
  • Support the Senior Producers to meet museum and Learning and Engagement team targets, including KPIs, income generation, visitor, teacher, and student satisfaction.
  • Supporting Senior Producers to actively embed all programming with innovative and creative production values and content, as well as ambitious digital elements - incorporating production techniques from across artforms and working closely with colleagues across IWM to achieve this.
  • Actively ensure all programmes are inclusive, identifying appropriate target audiences (including hard-to-reach groups) in line with wider IWM audience strategies, and ensuring resources appropriately match need and provide breadth of appeal.
  • Undertake research, collections-based and further afield, to contribute to the development of high quality, accurate learning and engagement resources for in-gallery and online programmes.
  • Undertake relevant administrative tasks, such as: assisting in the care, upkeep and management of physical and digital resources and equipment for the department, ordering resources and equipment, financial administration relevant to the programmes, ensuring all activities are well-resourced, and liaising with colleagues across IWM and external partners where relevant to ensure a smooth day-to-day operation of the Learning and Engagement programme.
  • Maintain an active and lively interest in developments in education and learning, such as public policy initiatives.
  • Be security conscious, ensuring familiarity and cooperation with all IWM security procedures.
  • Be actively committed to health and safety and safeguarding, ensuring familiarity with all IWM’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Working independently to balance a variety of projects in your portfolio.
  • Line management of a Facilitator role.
