Description:
Valerann is an AI company serving the world’s largest infrastructure asset. We are delivering the single biggest improvement in road safety since the seatbelt, using data.
We empower national, regional and private Road Operators across the world with actionable data insights in real-time. Using our cloud-based product operators respond faster to accidents, ease congestion bottlenecks, and significantly reduce greenhouse emissions. If we can replicate our current results to more clients, we will reduce the amount of people who die every year from accidents by 14%. We will reduce time spent in traffic by millions of hours per year, and we will decrease global greenhouse gas emissions by hundreds of millions of metric tons, making a real dent in the climate crisis. We need your help to make sure our AI based product is up to that transformative task.
We’re looking for a capable and critically-minded Product Analyst to help make our product the trusted source of real-time insights for road operators, when they are making life-or-death decisions. As such, the quality and relevance of our data insights is fundamental to the success of our product. Our system considers millions of data points in real time from a variety of sources (connected vehicles, machine vision, crowd sourced data, etc) and is designed to serve only accurate, actionable information and to suppress “noise” that can lead to confusion and overwhelm our users. As our Product Analyst, you will work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists and Customer Success to understand end-user needs and use cases and take responsibility for assessing the impact and integrity of our insights.
The insights we generate are not black or white; the complexity of the data we deal with and the dynamic nature of roads means there are many shades of grey. Therefore, expertise in business and data analysis techniques as well as a robust understanding of our users and a user-centric mindset is key.
REQUIREMENTS
Within this role, you will support a diverse range of qualitative, quantitative and exploratory analysis activities such as:
Product Insight Evaluation
- Critically assess the behavior, quality and relevance of the data insights our product generates to describe road conditions and to detect incidents;
- Identify trends or issues related to the outputs of our Machine Learning algorithms that limit their impact upon the end user;
- Validate the product is aligned to and delivers value versus our key use cases and the specific goals of each new project and for existing customers.
Data Driven Decision-Making
- Enable Data Scientists and Product Managers to make better decisions when planning and implementing our roadmap based on your analysis and recommendations;
- Monitor and analyse KPI’s for the Product and for each customer to highlight success and areas for improvement;
- Assess and label large data sets to enable the development of new models and to measure system quality.
Report Building
- Develop KPI reports and dashboards to enable Customer Success initiatives and to demonstrate the value of our solution;
- Develop KPI reports and dashboards to enable the Product Team to better plan and prioritize based on the impact, performance and quality of our solution.
Process Analysis & Definition
- Identify opportunities to improve our internal processes related to Product Management and data quality, suggesting improvements;
- Map out workflows representative of our customer’s operational processes to inform solution definition and to create cross-team alignment.
The following skills and experience would be advantageous:
- Prior experience working as a Product, Business or Data Analyst, or similar, in a user-centric environment;
- Knowledge and usage of process and data analysis techniques;
- Experience using SQL to develop queries, reports and dashboards;
- Experience working with Grafana or similar reporting interfaces;
- A positive, curious and hands-on attitude;
- Exposure to end users or clients in a B2B environment.
