Are you ready to build outstanding guest experiences in some of the world’s most remote regions? Join our Operations Team as a Product & Contracts Manager, Pre & Post Voyage and take a leadership role in managing pre- and post-voyage logistics, from aviation partnerships to hotel collaborations.
Quark Expeditions is the leading polar expedition travel company headquartered in Toronto, Canada. We operate cruises to Antarctica and Arctic regions (Greenland, North Canada, Svalbard) on board of 3 modern polar expedition ships - Ultramarine, Ocean Explorer, and World Explorer. Since 1991, Quark has been establishing a tradition of firsts in polar travel: as the first to transit the Northeast Passage with adventure travellers; the first to take travellers to the far side of Antarctica; and the first to circumnavigate the Antarctic continent with guests. REMOTE CAPABILITIES

This position is remote in Canada, requiring candidate work during the Eastern Standard Time zone in alignment with our Toronto-based employees.
Compensation: The base salary for this role is $85,000 - 100,000 CAD plus a local Quark bonus scheme.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of shipboard operations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Passion for environmental conservation and an understanding of ESG principles in tourism.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aviation & Airport Access: Research and assess aerodromes in remote areas like Greenland, Antarctica, and the Canadian Arctic. Partner with aviation companies to optimize safe, feasible, and contractable travel solutions for guests.
  • Logistics & Guest Experience: Lead and manage logistics, including accommodation, transportation, tours, and transfers. You’ll work closely with local vendors to ensure smooth operations and customer happiness.
  • Contract Consultations & Vendor Relationships: Own business relationships with hotels, ground transport, and excursion providers, reviewing contracts, managing budgets, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Operational Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, including health & safety, finance, and guest services, to ensure all pre-season logistics are in place and passenger needs are met.
  • Health & Safety: Work with the Health & Safety Manager ensuring all ground service suppliers meet strict safety guidelines.
  • Reporting & Optimization: Monitor partnership performance and continuously optimize services to improve the guest experience. Maintain detailed records of vendor contracts, guest services, and any logistical challenges.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in a tourism-related role, with a focus on product development, aviation, accommodations, or operations. Experience in contract management and developing commercial relations is crucial.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. We are looking for someone who is diligent and has the ability to balance multiple projects at once.
  • Analytical Abilities: Ability to research complex logistical solutions and interpret data to make informed decisions that enhance operations.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to remote locations to meet with partners and inspect on-site operations.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Travel & Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Technological Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office, reservation systems, and CRM software (preferably Salesforce).
  • Financial Focus: Experience in budget planning, cost control, and financial oversight.
