Could you be the full-time Product Cost Engineer in Hennigsdorf we’re looking for?

Responsibilities:

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

Take on a new challenge and apply your cost engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Oliver Kopp, Site Design to Cost Manager and work alongside passionate, motivated and dedicated teammates.
You’ll support the engineering team in the application of design to cost procedures and methods. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business to participate in the preparation of target costs in the context of tenders and projects and to provide estimations of realistically achievable costs for parts and assemblies.
You’ll help the sourcing team in negotiating with suppliers and will provide assistance across different projects in order to support the Design to Cost discipline. The position shall cover the field of Mechanical engineering (Machining, casting, forging, bending, etc.).
We’ll look to you for:

Based on the design of the product and different assumptions (Industrial / Sourcing)

  • Calculate the technical costs (Should Costs) of the product using appropriate tools or analytical approach
  • Propose alternatives solution to improve the cost of the train
  • Create and document design to cost ideas
  • Support technical business cases
  • Bring technical and commercial arguments to supplier negotiations
  • Document cost reduction potentials

Contributing to the improvement of the cost metier

  • Development of cost calculation tools for the cost network
  • Propose design rules to the design to cost community
  • Participate in the DtC network (best practice sharing, lessons learned, etc.)
  • Ensure consistency of assumptions made

  • Overall knowledge of railway industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of Engineering tools (DMA/CATIA/E3S)
  • Knowledge of quality gates (V-Cycle)
  • Fluent in German and English
  • MS Office knowledg
