Our head office and warehouse are in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We manufacture and sell extruded aluminum trim for lap siding, panel systems, aluminum composite materials (ACM) and aluminum siding systems, primarily in the United States and Canada. Working closely with the Lead of Product Development and Design, the Product Design Drafter will be responsible for assisting in aluminum extrusion drawings as well as shop drawings. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient with AutoCAD.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

• Meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D is mandatory (3D is an asset)
• Understanding of drafting techniques and standards
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings
• Working knowledge of imperial and metric units of measure
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Residency in Calgary AB or surrounding area (required)
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication (required)
• Experience with aluminum extrusions is a very strong asset but willing to train the right candidate
  Additionally, please note that candidates for this position will be required to demonstrate AutoCAD proficiency during their interview.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma major in Design and Development or related work experience
• AutoCAD drafting courses

• Create and revise aluminum extrusion profile drawings using AutoCAD
• Examine drawings for errors
• Verify samples from suppliers
• Check that profiles work with existing product
• Prepare typical detail drawings using AutoCAD
