The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing robust and high-performing products, including complex mechanical systems and components used in the heavy equipment industry. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to create products that meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability.
As a Product Design Engineer, you will be involved in all phases of product development, from initial concept design to prototype testing and final production. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the development of heavy machinery that is used in industries such as construction, mining, and agriculture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design, preferably within the heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or automotive industries.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA) and engineering design tools.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex design challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment and machinery design standards, safety regulations, and industry certifications (e.g., ISO, ANSI).
- Experience in prototyping and testing designs in real-world conditions.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools for product validation.
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus.
