The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a candidate for Lab Support I role within our “Centre of Excellence” collaboration, dedicated to developing new and innovative products through extensive research and understanding of cannabis with a focus on research and development.
Reporting to the Analytical Science lead, the successful candidate will have a keen eye for details, be hardworking with strong decision-making abilities. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful and creative problem solver, will be able to work individually as well as in a team environment, has excellent organizational skills, a quick learner with an ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and changing work environment.

TO QUALIFY, YOU HAVE:

  • Sound knowledge of chemistry, with the main focus on analytical chemistry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, word is considered an asset;
  • Previous experience in a quality lab environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail;
  • Effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Work independently and as a team in fast paced work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely following good laboratory practices;
  • Collect and log samples in real time;
  • Perform sample preparation;
  • Perform sample analysis;
  • Process sample waste material;
  • Help manage testing consumables supply inventory;
  • Help operate and maintain instruments and equipment;
  • Interpret and report results;
  • Responsible for comprehensive record keeping;
  • Assist to develop and validate methods on analytical equipment;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who you are….

  • B.Sc. Chemistry or technical diploma in related field
