REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience leading in a product development / engineering / manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge / understanding and demonstrable application of manufacturing (control, methods, automation) processes.
  • Working knowledge of technical writing of manufacturing documents (PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, Work Instructions, and Checklists).
  • Strong knowledge / understanding of small engine components (mechanical and electrical).
  • Not required but an asset - Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in General, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Process Engineering.
  • Relevant software experience (e.g. MS Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering team in upgrading existing and developing new products (from conception through production) and manufacturing lines.
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects using standard and visual project management methods.
  • Develop and/or implement policies, standards, or procedures for engineering and technical work.
  • Confer with management, production, sales and marketing teams regarding product specifications or procedures.
  • Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in engineering projects.
  • Ensure designs, drawings and test specifications support successful manufacturing.
  • Lead and facilitate problem solving in all areas of manufacturing and product development (mechanical, assembly, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrics, paint and test processes).
  • Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing teams to improve our capability, yields, and capacity through design for manufacture.
