Description:

Our market leading premium products are manufactured and distributed primarily to specialty retailers throughout Canada and the United States. Headquartered in Calgary, AOR is in search of an experienced Product Development Technician to join our team.
The function of the Product Development Technician is the formulation of nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products as well as to enhance and expand the handling of a wide-variety of nutraceutical raw material. The ideal candidate would be using various tabletting, spray coating, fluidized bed drying, micro-milling and roller compacting and encapsulation equipment at our Calgary based building. The candidate must be able to participate in the implementation of new processes, techniques and tooling which will enhance the production efficiencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree and minimum of 5 years related experience in the pharmaceutical/ nutraceutical processing field
  • Experience with coating, encapsulation, tabletting, fluidized bed drying, roller compaction, micro-milling and other related pharmaceutical skills is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing Manufacturing/Production Pharma/Nutraceutical Processes
  • Assist in the development of new processes, technologies or tooling needed to manufacture company products.
  • Assist in identifying/developing/qualifying fixtures for manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the implementation of Manufacturing/Production Processes.
  • Preparing Master Batch Records (MBR’s)
  • Work with Process Engineers to ensure manufacturing meets quality requirements and project schedule.
  • Identify process improvements for established products.
  • Assist in determining equipment needs for manufacturing.
  • Assist in the resolution of production problems as needed.
  • Assist in investigating and testing of new or revised production procedures.
  • Assist in evaluating and qualifying raw materials from new and existing suppliers.
  • Work with Product Development team to ensure that products are optimally designed for manufacturing.
  • Assist and create appropriate protocols to support product development activities.
  • Provide proper documentation for the production area to support Health Canada/FDA/ISO quality and GMP Standards.
  • Work with engineers, designers, Quality Assurance and Managers to develop and document manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
