Description:

As a member of the Product team, you will be assigned to varied and complex initiatives that require specialized insurance and guaranteed investment product knowledge to be successful. This role combines analytical expertise with strong communication skills to ensure product documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible. You will work independently on projects and provide day-to-day consulting support, ensuring all technical aspects of product design are clearly defined and understood. You will have access to a variety of subject matter experts from the Product, Large Case, and Advanced Sales teams, and regularly connect with other internal stakeholders. You will manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The Product Documentation team is a part of the Life Insurance, Critical Illness and Guaranteed Investment product development team. We are a group of highly knowledgeable professionals who design and maintain Manulife’s individual insurance and guaranteed investment product offerings.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of English grammar and plain language best practices.
  • Excellent research skills to quickly understand complex product details.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality documentation.
  • Ability to identify complex issues and develop creative solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe.

  • Comfortable learning new technology.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage conflicting priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain easy-to-understand product documentation for insurance and guaranteed investment products.
  • Follow documentation processes, uphold corporate standards in all content created work with other business units to understand and meet customer documentation needs.
  • Lead the review and approval process to ensure content is accurate.
  • Review and update documentation for accuracy, consistency, and ensure documents meet accessibility standards (AODA).
  • Partner with subject matter experts and product teams to ensure document quality and accuracy, collaborate with IT to define content specifications and review the final output.
  • Stay updated on technical writing trends and technology, including plain language.
  • Use team tools and processes effectively, such as RACI, Style guide, Product documentation plan, JIRA, and SharePoint.
