Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a motivated and driven Product Lifecycle Manager. This position provides an exciting opportunity to shape and influence a diverse portfolio of over 10,000 products, working closely with a dedicated team of professionals in the Microbiology Division.
How will you make an impact?
We are seeking a Global Product Lifecycle Manager to join our Product Management team, within the Microbiology Division (MBD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific, accountable for projects impacting portfolio optimization.
Acting as the liaison between Sales, Regional Marketing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Affairs, Technical/Customer Support, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, you will hold end-to-end accountability for the portfolio health, focusing on increasing profitability and decreasing complexity.
Fully remote (working from home), preferably based in the nearby of Wesel (Germany), Vantaa (Finland), Basingstoke (UK) or Lenexa, Kansas, US. Some international travel (10% per annum) will be required, with a focus on our sites in Basingstoke (UK), Wesel (Germany), and Lenexa (USA). Ideally, you will live within commuting distance of an international airport.
Responsibilities:

Full ownership and accountability of the annual SKU health project, that includes:

  • Product discontinuation - Suggest product retirements and related alternatives working with Product Management, Sales, Regional marketing and Tech support; evaluate EBITA impact with Finance; forecast production ramp down of retired products and ramp up of alternatives with Operations; conduct change controls activity; work with Marketing Ops and Regional Marketing to define the accurate communication plan to customers.
  • Price adjustment. Evaluate the product profitability and suggest price adjustments, making sure to remain driven in the market.
  • Optimization. Work with Operations and Product Management and propose solutions to reduce portfolio complexity.

Ownership of certain business lines in the food molecular portfolio:

  • Collaborate with other divisions of Thermo Scientific.
  • Definition of the rules of engagement, technical service, payment terms, minimum order quantity, transfer prices.
  • Creation and ownership of the Tailored Solution project, aiming at introducing specific custom-made products and services to key customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or similar field.
  • Experience within Microbiology, preferably as a scientist, salesperson, or marketer.
  • Experience in Product Management of life science or technical products and services, including conducting product lifecycle analysis and rationalization projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Project management experience.
  • Familiarity with working in a global/international business environment.
  • Proficient in English, additional languages are a plus.
