We are now looking for an
Product Management Specialist (Oil & Gas)
To join our team in Drammen, Norway. In this role, you will serve as a key technical focal point for products manufactured at our cable production facility, with a particular focus on the NEK606 cable standard for the Oil & Gas market. You will be responsible for impacting product development efforts, liaising between R&D and sales teams, and managing the product life cycle to ensure our offerings align with market needs. This position requires both strategic planning and hands-on execution, making it ideal for a driven individual who enjoys a vibrant technical environment.
You will play a pivotal role in developing product/service concepts in collaboration with customers and driving the go-to-market process across international teams. You will also provide vital technical sales support, oversee the approval and certification processes, and ensure continuous innovation and improvement of our product portfolio. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical focal point for NEK606 products in Drammen, overseeing product offerings as part of the sales team.
  • Act as the interface between R&D and sales to implement new and relevant products.
  • Proactively develop product/service concepts with customers to support business growth.
  • Manage the entire product life cycle, from strategic planning to tactical activities, ensuring a competitive product portfolio:
  • Initiate changes and improvements when necessary.
  • Drive product development processes across teams.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with international product managers within Prysmian/Draka.
  • Provide technical support during bidding activities, including data book preparation, quotation support, and market intelligence.
  • Offer technical sales support, answering customer inquiries and handling capability-related questions.
  • Conduct product training for sales teams and customers.
  • Oversee product sourcing and global supply coordination.

Requirements

  • Educational background in technical or commercial fields, preferably as an engineer or with a strong technical interest.
  • Prior experience in installation or engineering within the Oil & Gas industry is preferred.
  • Proven experience in product management throughout the entire product life cycle, ideally in an industrial setting.
  • Fluency in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.
