Established in 1991, ACI represents and advocates airports’ interests with governments and international organizations such as ICAO, develops standards, policies, and recommended practices for airports, and provides information and training opportunities to raise standards around the world.
The location
The position is based in Montreal, the world’s international hub for organizations involved in aerospace and aviation. It offers candidates a unique opportunity to work in a global environment and help to improve the overall airport and aviation industry - as well as to help improving the overall passenger experience. The ACI team is comprised of people from many countries and is truly and international environment. Relocation to Montreal is required, but ACI has a generous remote work policy.
Role description
The Product Manager Data Portal will be responsible for steering the strategy and customer engagement of our data dissemination portal, the ACI Intelligence Hub, and our ACI Landing Zone, our survey-based data collection and validation portal where we aim to facilitate and automate the airport traffic and economics data collection process that facilitates access to and utilization of critical data.
This role will involve defining the strategy for these data portals, ensuring they align with organizational goals. With the Data and Analytics team, you will be collaborating with various stakeholders, including the Information Technology department, and the various families of users, to gather requirements and drive the product lifecycle from ideation, Proof of Concepts and ongoing enhancements. Additionally, the product strategy will need to target growth and expansion of our portal user base, ensuring that our member or non-member airports, World Business partners, and paying users derive maximum value from their experience.
The Product Manager Data Portal will monitor the portal’s performance, address technical issues, handle invoicing and documentation and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, and security. This role also will involve creating and maintaining a product roadmap, prioritizing features and improvements based on relevant user feedback and business value, and continuously seeking ways to enhance the portal’s functionality and effectiveness.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Grow and engage with our portal technologies user base.
Build and expand the user base for our data portals, employing strategic marketing initiatives, partnership developments, and tailored engagement.
a) Strategic marketing initiatives: with input from the ACI Marketing and Communication team, develop a marketing plan that includes a mix of marketing tools and initiatives, content development, and direct sales strategies to increase the numbers of users.
b) Collaboration development: identify and establish collaboration opportunities with ACI regions, member airports, various aviation businesses, and industry stakeholders to extend reach and enhance the product offering. Identify co-branding opportunities that can bring mutual benefits, enhancing visibility and reach. Monitor competitive landscape and adjust product/market fit as required
c) User onboarding & engagement: respond to client inquiry, demo requests, invoice clarification, general required communications; create engagement with training sessions, user groups, or webinars, to keep users active and involved. These programs should also serve to gather insights into user satisfaction and product improvement ideas.
d) Be present at relevant conferences and organize webinars to ensure the engagement and growth of our user base.
e) Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with the Marketing and Communication department, IT, and other product development teams at ACI to ensure that the user acquisition strategies are well integrated with overall business strategies and that user feedback is used to continuously improve the product.
f) Ensure all departments are aligned on the target user base and understand the key value propositions of the I-Hub, Landing Zone, and other future potential products to come.
Data Portal strategy and development
Develop and implement a comprehensive, long-term roadmap as part of the ACI strategic plan for data portals. This includes planning and launching new content modules, as well as ensuring continuous updates and monitoring to keep the content relevant. Close collaborate with the ACI Lead Data Scientist will be required.
a) Identify opportunities for new content and modules that enhance our platforms. Initiate the conceptualization and design of future modules by gathering requirements from users and analyzing competitive offerings to ensure they are market-ready and competitive.
b) Collaborate closely with Data Scientists in a cycle of identifying new data and analytic needs, building use cases and Proof-of-Concepts, analyzing values, gaps and technical plausibility, scaling up the preliminary results into productions, adding new products into the portfolio.
c) Establish processes for regular content updates and additions to keep the platform relevant and useful for users.
d) Create a detailed product development plan, including the next batch of features and content, based on customer needs, technical feasibility, and business impact. Actively manage the end-to-end product cycle.
e) Communicate the product vision and strategy for internal and external stakeholders.
f) Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, external datasets, and potential opportunities to ensure the product remains competitive and innovative, with a clear understanding of the existing product portfolio.
Drive performance metrices
a) Based on the identified key metrics and KPI framework that reflect the portal’s success, work closely with the Data and Analytics team to understand data availability, collection methods, and any constraints that may affect metric tracking
b) Ensure that each KPI is actionable, offering clear guidance on how improvements can be made and outlining expected actions if targets are not met.
c) Coordinate with the Data & Analytics team to set up automated data feeds that facilitate effective monitoring of these KPIs. Ensure the technical feasibility of integrating new data sources necessary for comprehensive tracking.
d) Coordinate with IT and developers, actively seek opportunity to further optimize and control the cost and time in accordance with the corporate IT strategy and financial constraints.
e) Monitor closely the performance and the health of the live product and work closely with development and IT services team to troubleshoot problem as necessary.
Experience and Education.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Product Management, Project Management or similar roles.
University degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Experience working with cross-functional and international teams including developers, marketing, and sales.
Professional experience in aviation industry, transportation, or data analytics industry is an asset.
Knowledge of CRM systems is an asset.
Knowledge in project management principles, methodologies and tools such as DevOps, Confluence.
Experience in promoting product in public events, such as conferences or exhibitions.
Skills and Assets

Strategic Thinking: skilled in defining and executing a clear product vision and strategy, aligning the data portal with organizational goals and market needs.
Stakeholder Management: strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, and external partners, ensuring alignment and satisfaction.
Product Development: Experience in managing a full product lifecycle, from ideation to POC, launch and enhancement, with a focus on delivering user-centric solutions.
