Description:
Your Job
DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a Product Manager who will be responsible for leading the development of a product line of downhole inspection solutions (HW, SW, Data Analytics). This is not your average product role. This position offers a broad range of responsibilities including significant freedom to lead the development, commercialization, and expansion of our high-resolution acoustic imaging technology.
You don’t need to have product management experience to excel in this role. If you are contribution-motivated, driven to make a difference, and enjoy doing whatever it takes to get the job done, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for someone who blends excellent technical understanding in downhole logging (well integrity or well completions) with solid business acumen. This is a great opportunity to join a world-class team that is revolutionizing how operators understand the integrity of their multi-million-dollar assets.
This role will be based out of DarkVision’s head office in North Vancouver, Canada. Reporting to our Director of Product, the successful candidate will be involved in managing all continuous improvement, strategy, technical material generation, and road-mapping of our industry-leading downhole imaging technology as we continue to expand into new geographies and applications.
Our Team
To make well informed decisions, Oil & Gas asset operators need a clear picture of the inner workings of piping infrastructure. The team at DarkVision makes this happen. Our experts from across the machine vision, imaging, computer graphics, and data analytics sectors have worked to create the most technologically advanced platform for pipeline and downhole diagnostics. Come join our team as we embark on the exciting journey ahead to become the global leader in industrial imaging.
WHO YOU ARE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS)
- STEM Degree.
- Experience with downhole oil & gas services.
Responsibilities:
- Product Roadmap Management: Monitor and maintain our Downhole Service product roadmaps used to communicate and track product improvements and developments. Balance long-term development with assessing what we can improve on our current offering by monitoring our service quality, revenue, and custom requests that arise in our daily deliveries. As priorities shift and timelines change, you will ensure nothing slips through the cracks and everyone understands what is being worked on, how it impacts our product, and when it will be completed. This role requires informal communication with many groups within DarkVision and the ability to discuss and challenge progress in an efficient and friendly manner.
- Own Product Strategy: Create and champion product strategy for our downhole acoustic imaging product line. Determine and plan product lifecycles based on thorough market analysis, sales and customer feedback, and from both our R&D and executive teams. Manage tradeoffs and prioritize elements of the downhole product line (including customer deliverables) in response to changing market demands.
- Manage Product Scope: Understand and communicate the technical complexity, timelines, and business value of all product facets. Make trade-offs to maximize value along the way. Plan, communicate, and set actionable goals for product features to the R&D team.
- Product Requirements, Projects, and Publications: Work with our Product team to ideate and execute continuous improvement initiatives. This will include coordinating the needs of multiple stakeholders (Engineering, R&D, Data Analysis, Sales) and coordinating lab or field testing to validate new downhole inspection applications. To do this successfully, you must create presentations and documentation for Sales Engineers, scientific publications, clients, and the Marketing team.
- Know the Competition and Market: Perform ongoing competitive analysis of the cased-hole logging industry, including pricing strategies and product positioning.
- Champion The Tech Externally: Travel to all corners of the world to unveil award-winning papers to new audiences and operators. Ideate, plan, and execute technical papers and associated materials by working with top-tier E&P companies, our data analysts, product marketers, and salespeople. You will have the wind at your back; we have amazing customer traction with a highly differentiated product. This type of opportunity doesn’t come around often.
