Awesome experiences with our software and developer tools, are critical to their success. Silicon Labs is looking for a Tools Product Manager to join the platform product management team. You will join a team of highly experienced product managers responsible for driving the strategy and roadmaps for a variety of hardware and software products.

• We collaborate with key stakeholders in business units, R&D, Marketing, and customer support teams to drive new customer acquisition and design wins .
• We create and prioritize software feature roadmaps based on various inputs to meet a diverse set of applications.
• We support major product launches collaborating closely with product marketing, applications engineering, field engineering, sales, and others.

Responsibilities
As a tools product manager in the Platform Software & Tools product team, you will play an important role in shaping the experiences of IoT product developers. For this role it is important that you have a strong technical understanding of embedded or IoT product development with the desire to continue to learn and leverage your skills to define best-in-class developer experiences for Silicon Labs customers. Your primary responsibility will be management of software-based tools that enable development with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Matter, Thread, Zigbee, and more.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

• Test and evaluate the developer experience with Silicon Labs and competitor products, insuring you have up-to-date expertise and understanding of how our customers develop IoT products.
• Identify emerging development trends and customer needs to make roadmap decisions and drive product differentiation.
• Work with internal teams to understand business needs, analyze user feedback, capture user stories and requirements, and maintain prioritized tools product roadmaps.
• Partner with project managements and key R&D stakeholders to plan deliverables required to execute the roadmap, consulting on implementation of products as needed.
• Collaborate with business units and applications engineering teams to support new feature deployments, alpha/beta programs, and assist in customer engagement when needed.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Technical acumen as an embedded systems developer and a solid understanding of how IoT products are developed using MCUs and wireless SoCs
• Experience with the application of short-range wireless technologies (e.g. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Z-Wave)
• Ability to identify developer needs and trends via curiosity, self-learning, and customer / partner feedback
• Communication skills to comfortably interface directly with customers and senior leadership teams, sharing your vision, concepts, plans, roadmaps, and more
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
