Description:

Some careers shine brighter than others.
If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC and fulfil your potential. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.
Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. We also have specialised relationship managers who support customers with bespoke requirements, including high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
In this role you will be responsible for creating frictionless onboarding experiences for customers as they access financing directly at the point of sale. This role will focus on simplifying the application, approval, and onboarding process for digital/non-digital, assisted/unassisted origination journeys, while ensuring a seamless integration with merchant platforms.
As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end origination process for various embedded lending and POS finance products, ensuring a seamless and intuitive customer experience from application to loan approval
  • Collaborate with merchants and platform partners to embed lending offers within their checkout experiences, ensuring the process feels natural and user-friendly
  • Partner with risk, credit and compliance teams to streamline decisioning processes and maximise conversion rates without compromising on risk assessment or regulatory compliance
  • Use data insights to identify and address friction points in the origination process, including optimising conversion rates, reducing abandonment, and improving time-to-approval
  • Ensure that the journey is designed to be compliant with regulatory requirements, while also providing a smooth user experience

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience in product management, especially in designing customer-facing journeys for embedded lending, POS finance, or Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solutions, managing the balance between customer experience and responsible lending regulations
  • Strong understanding of customer behaviour in point of sale financing environments, including online and in-store checkout experiences
  • Familiarity with real-time credit decisioning processes and how to integrate them into seamless customer journeys
  • Familiarity with third-party platforms, APIs, and payment gateways that support an embedded lending experience
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape for embedded lending, including compliance with responsible lending and affordability guidelines

This role is based in Birmingham, Leeds, Chester, Sheffield or London.
