Description:

As Product Manager, you take ownership of the Tech21 product categories. You will understand the performance of your products and work hard to grow the performance of product categories.
You will add rigor and a data led approach to help drive New Product Development from a category perspective. This will enable better and quicker decision making to speed up NPD delivery.
Working closely with the Head of Product & Category, this role will provide a clear long term strategic vision and plans to drive transformation and growth in the business.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proven track record working in a global business with strong multi-cultural teams, fostering strong relationships, team spirit and culture.
  • Advanced analytical skills, data-driven way of working, solution driven and results oriented.
  • Provide a narrative and make clear recommendations based on research findings.
  • Relevant professional experience in product information management, category management or business/product development.
  • Strong project and/or portfolio management experience.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects.
  • Experience of using MS Excel and PowerPoint to a high standard.
  • Excellent organisation skills, to plan the use of people and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Confident with communicating and presenting with external and internal customers at all levels.
  • Experience working with dashboards to provide in-depth data and insight reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the Tech21 product categories.
  • Make informed product recommendations for up-coming launches, based on data and category insights.
  • Understand consumer trends and use habits to guide product and feature recommendations.
  • Review Tech21’s competitors and markets to understand their features and Price Points.
  • Understand the Retail and online landscape and how they offer product opportunities.
  • Set NPD design briefs considering Features, Advantages & Benefits (FAB) and Product Propositions and kick-off Design projects.
  • Identify target COGs for NPD projects to ensure project viability.
  • Together with Finance, build and maintain a business plan for products.
  • Work with Finance to evaluate and communicate the performance of the category on a regular basis (typically monthly). Adding a clear narrative to the performance and how that should guide next steps
  • Work with the Design team and partners to maintain an NPD funnel to deliver category growth.
  • Be the owner of Tech21 product categories for the business.
  • Support the Sales team, presenting to customers and feed learnings back into the business.
  • Maintain and share a rolling Product Roadmap (products by device launch)
  • Communicate category and project progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor competitor activity and keep the business informed of developments in your category.
  • Maintain relationships with OEM Partners eg. SMAPP & Google.
  • Manage a team if / when the structure grows.
  • Strive to develop robust Product & Category Management within Tech21.
  • Support the delivery of projects in other categories when required.
