Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Product Owner in our Institutional Operations Client Engagement - this role enable and inspire the squad to pursue its mission by guiding them on “what” work to do. They prioritise work based on delivery of customer value and engage with other Product Owners to align and manage interdependencies with a Technology specialisation.

As a Product Owner, your role is to enable and inspire a multi-disciplinary team to pursue its mission, by guiding them on ‘what’ work should be completed by the squad. The Product Owner constantly prioritises tasks and the squad’s backlog with the customer at the heart of their decision making. The Product Owner also ensures that the work is strategically aligned to the tribe mission and engages with other Product Owners to align and manage interdependencies. Whilst this role is not a people manager, it is a key leadership role, galvanising the squad around a vision and supporting them to successfully deliver customer value at pace.

Responsibilities:

Work with stakeholders and customers to design, develop and help deliver the most appropriate and fit for purpose business solutions for our customers using Fileactive and emerging technologies.
Collaborate closely with the relevant teams to ensure work meets stakeholder requirements, is industry best practice and designed for maximum re-use.
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and the ability to negotiate with Delivery Partners and Support Teams to ensure execution of our Channel Strategy and Customer solutions.
Ensure new features and services are delivered comply with relevant business governance requirements.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of ANZs Digital Channel strategy, with an ability to make prioritisation decisions based on a range of factors.
Embed a culture of learning, empowerment, rapid experimentation, adaptability and collaboration.
Role model customer centricity and the ANZ Values.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Strong payments domain knowledge including customer-facing channels and operations
An understanding of Wholesale Digital and Transactional Banking applications
Demonstrated customer service skills and excellent relationship building and management experience
Proven stakeholder management and negotiation skills with strong written and oral communication skills
Experience in negotiating constructive outcomes in complex environments with competing priorities
Demonstrated commercial acumen based around product delivery and providing high quality advice
Create a working environment where you and your colleagues can learn, grow and perform to their best
Help coordinate and drive incident analysis and troubleshooting outcomes into continuous improvement
Drive continuous improvement, documenting new support functionality and create and maintain support processes to ensure the right tools are available for the wider team
Proven ability to innovate and adapt to latest developments
Applying a strong level of problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills with evidence based decision making
